Laser Hair Removal.Permanent.
Medical-grade permanent hair reduction for face and body. Series treatment, all skin types accommodated with the right laser wavelength, performed in the same boutique studio as the rest of your care.
Series of 6–8 · All skin types · Permanent
What it is.
Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy targeted to the melanin in the hair follicle. The energy is converted to heat, which damages the follicle's ability to produce new hair. Because hair grows in cycles and only follicles in active growth (anagen phase) are vulnerable to laser energy, a series of treatments is needed to catch each follicle in its active phase.
We use medical-grade laser platforms with multiple wavelengths so we can match the right device to your skin type — diode lasers for lighter skin tones, longer-wavelength Nd:YAG for darker tones (which has more surface melanin and requires deeper-penetrating wavelengths to bypass it). This isn't an "all skin types same setting" treatment. The device, energy, pulse duration, and cooling are tuned to you.
What we treat.
- Face — upper lip, chin, sideburns, full face.
- Underarms — typically the fastest, most popular area.
- Bikini & Brazilian — common for women who want permanent reduction in those zones.
- Legs — full leg or lower leg, with seasonal scheduling.
- Arms — full arm, half arm, or hands.
- Back & chest — common for men.
- Stomach & chin — frequently requested for hormonal patterning.
What to expect.
A laser hair removal appointment ranges from 15 minutes (small areas like upper lip) to 60–75 minutes (full body). Shave the area 12–24 hours before the appointment — long hair on the surface absorbs the energy and reduces what reaches the follicle. The treatment feels like a warm rubber-band snap; cool-air assist and contact cooling minimize discomfort.
Treated hairs shed over 1–3 weeks — they look like new growth but are actually the dead hairs working their way out. After about 4 sessions you'll notice meaningful reduction; after the full series, most clients have 80–90% permanent reduction with optional yearly maintenance for stragglers.

Results & cadence.
Most clients see best results from 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart for face and 6–8 weeks apart for body. Hormonal patterning (chin, jawline) often requires more sessions and yearly maintenance. Final result is described as "permanent reduction" rather than "permanent removal" — most clients have meaningfully less hair, finer hair, and slower regrowth, with the occasional new follicle activating from hormonal shifts.
Considerations.
Active tan is a contraindication — laser is best scheduled fall through early spring. Gray, white, and very light blonde hair don't respond (no melanin for the laser to target). Skin types VI may not be candidates with our specific platform; we'll know at consultation. Pregnancy, isotretinoin within 6 months, photosensitizing medications, and active herpes outbreak in the treatment area are all reasons to defer.
Who performs it.
Laser hair removal at Privé is performed by Devin Rogers, our Licensed Laser Technician and Laser Safety Officer, trained at the National Laser Institute in Dallas. Skin-type assessment and session-by-session adjustment are standard.
iii.
Permanent isn’t a session. It’s a series.
— With Love, Privé
iv.
Six to eight sessions, eight weeks apart. The follicle is hit while it’s growing, then asked not to grow again. By the last appointment you’ll be shaving once a season — then not at all.

Post-care
After the visit, going home.

Mild redness and warmth in the treated area for an hour or two. Cool compresses help if it’s tender. Avoid heat — no sauna, no hot showers — for 24 hours.
-
Avoid direct sun on the treated area for two weeks before and after each session. SPF 50 daily on any treated skin that will be exposed.
-
Do not shave the treated area for 48 hours; do not wax, tweeze, or epilate at any point during the series — only shave between sessions. Skip exfoliants for three days.
-
Wait 24 hours. Sweat in freshly treated skin can trigger irritation.

Treated hairs shed over two to three weeks. Don’t scrub them out; gentle exfoliation after a week is enough.
